Bring your creativity to the Washington County Fair with the Scarecrow Decorating Contest, sponsored by the Abingdon Fiddlers Convention! There's a category for everyone — Ages 5-12, Ages 13-18, Adult, and Business — with prizes awarded to each category winner. Winning scarecrows will be displayed at the Virginia Welcome Center in Bristol after the fair.
Rules:
- Scarecrows can be made out of anything you want
- The pole must be 60 inches tall
- The pole must be placed in a 5-gallon bucket filled with sand or soil
- Buckets must be decorated
Entry Details:
- Check-in: Sunday, September 13, 2–5pm
- Pick-up: Sunday, September 20, 1–3pm
Entries will be placed throughout Building A during the week for public viewing.
