Climb aboard the real thing. Fire trucks, sheriff's vehicles, a medical helicopter, and a K-9 demonstration — all up close, all hands-on. September 16, 5–7 PM.
Ever wondered what it's like behind the wheel of a ladder truck? At Touch-a-Truck, the ropes come down and the doors open. Kids and grown-ups alike can climb into the cabs, work the equipment, and get a close-up look at the vehicles that show up when it matters most.
Abingdon Fire Department brings Tower 203, its aerial ladder truck. The Washington County Sheriff's Office rolls in with a patrol vehicle and a K-9 unit. And a HEART medical helicopter will be on display — a rare chance to see one on the ground and ask the crew how it all works.
The K-9 demonstration is the one not to miss. Watch our four-legged heroes put their training to work, then meet the handlers who work alongside them every day.
Bring the camera. Bring the kids. Bring your questions — the crews are there to answer them.
